September 18, 2020 – Decatur Public Schools announced today that students will remain learning virtually for at least the first half of the Second Quarter of the school year, or from October 13th through November 13th. DPS administration has continued working with principals, teachers, and staff to find options to determine the outlook for the remainder of the Second Quarter. A follow-up announcement will be made on October 30th to update families on what to expect for the second half of the Second Quarter, which will be November 16th to December 18th.
DPS plans to implement a form on Skyward Family Access sometime next week for families to be able to choose a hybrid option that would include virtual and in-person learning if it were to be made an option. The selection will be used toward the planning process for the second half of the Second Quarter and the foreseeable future.
