August 13, 2020 – State Senator Andy Manar made the announcement today that more than 40 local businesses will see additional aid from funding stemming from the state’s Business Interruption Grant program.  The program is to help business owners who are facing economic hardships.  Decatur will receive $270,000 out of the total of $790,000 that will be distributed to local businesses in the 48th District.  The BIG program had its first round of distribution released this week in order to provide business communities with financial assistance in areas impacted the most by COVID-19 related closures.

“The Business Interruption Grant program is an example of what is possible when legislators do their job and create tangible solutions to the problems facing our state,” Manar said. “Government is supposed to work for those we represent first and foremost, and I’m proud that we are doing everything possible at the state level to help our small business community stay afloat.”
