Jumpstart Back To School Event Cancelled Due to COVID Concerns

sJuly 29, 2020 – An event for back to school exams and immunization was canceled Saturday due to concerns over the increase in local COVID cases.

According to a statement, The Macon County Health Department, Crossing Healthcare, and First Christian Church have made the difficult decision to cancel the Jumpstart Back to School Clinic.

“This decision was made due to the recent increase in COVID-19 cases in Macon County and the imperative need to implement all precautionary measures possible to protect the families we serve and our healthcare staff.”

Parents/guardians are encouraged to contact the Macon County Health Department at (217) 423-6988 to schedule required vaccinations or Crossing Healthcare at (217) 877-9117 to schedule schools physicals and/or vaccinations.

“We appreciate the community’s understanding and we will work diligently with local families to ensure the students will receive high quality school physicals and healthcare in a timely and appropriate manner.”
