October 3, 2019 – Tomorrow is the 18th Annual WSOY Community Food Drive at the Kroger on Rt 36, and it will take everyone to reach the goal of 1.5 million pounds of food. The drive will take place from 6am to 6pm and giving is easy. You can stop by and drop of a cash or canned food donation or call 875-3350 to make a donation over the phone. You can also give online through the United Way by clicking HERE. This year the food drive is asking for canned non-perishable food or monetary donations. Canned food allows the food drive to utilize off site storage and monetary donations weigh the most. The food banks use the money to purchase food from the Central Illinois Food Bank at a tremendous discount of 19 cents a pound. Remember that you can make your donation In the name of a school to help that school win cash prizes for the most food and money raised. The WSOY Community Food Drive is the primary source of food for the community’s pantries, raising over 11 million pounds in 17 years.
