October 25 – If you know someone who belongs in the Decatur Public Schools Hall of Fame, the district is accepting nominations for the next class of inductees.
DPS-61 is now accepting nominations to recognize the athletic achievements of DPS alumni from all current and former district high schools. Accomplishments must have come during the athlete’s tenure in high school, but DPS will also consider accomplishments for off-field conduct and for those who have “positively represented DPS.” Additionally, DPS will consider team accomplishments like state titles or records to be included in the HOF.
This HOF class will be honored at Eisenhower High School during halftime of the EHS vs. MacArthur boys basketball game on January 13, 2017.
Inductees will be honored at both Eisenhower and MacArthur high schools through interactive digital panels located at event entrances. If you graduated from Lakeview, you will be honored at Eisenhower and if you graduated from Decatur or Stephen Decatur HS, you will be honored at MacArthur.
Except in the case of a posthumous nomination, DPS is requiring all inductees to be present at the induction ceremony at which they will be honored. 10 nominees will be inducted into the HOF at the MHS vs. EHS basketball game.
Nominations will be accepted now through November 1, 2016.
