September 27 – A national floor cleaning parts and repairs company has invested over $1 million to establish itself in Decatur.
USA-CLEAN is now open at 2803 North 22nd Street in Decatur. The building was formerly a lumber yard. Over $1 million was invested to revamp the facility to handle a distribution and repair center as well as house a call center.
Bruce Bushert is the owner and president of USA-CLEAN. He went to school at Argenta-Oreana and says Decatur’s location was perfect for his business.
“I chose Decatur because it is centrally located as far as from a distribution standpoint,” Bushert says. “We touch 70 percent of the population easily with LTL and UPS from here.”
The facility employs 50 people. USA-CLEAN provides floor cleaning machines you’d see in hospitals, schools, and retail outlets like Sears and Walmart. The Decatur facility will handle repairs as well as software development and customer services.
Bushert, who started the business cleaning carpets and sleeping in his van, says it’s exciting to have a business close to his hometown.
“I had no home for awhile, but I like Decatur,” Bushert explains. “The cost of living is reasonable; there are good people here, so I said this is where I want my home to be.”
The Greater Decatur Chamber of Commerce helped welcome USA-CLEAN to the community with a ribbon cutting Monday evening.
