September 5 – Due to lingering hot and humid weather, the Decatur Public School District will be dismissing early Tuesday, September 6.
DPS will be releasing students after three hours of instruction tomorrow (Tuesday). Students will be dropped off at their normal bus stops and there will not be any afternoon Pre-K programs.
At this time, DPS officials have not made any announcements about Wednesday yet. The district says they will conduct temperature readings at each school/classroom. They will let families know if they decide to dismiss early Wednesday as well.

Any special education students without a latch-key agreement and all Pre-K students with no adult present at their home will be released to Harris Elementary.
