WARRENSBURG– Three people were injured Monday when the car they were riding in went off the road and crashed near the intersection of Rt. 121 and Lincoln Memorial Parkway.
The Macon County Sheriff’s Office says a 25 year old Decatur man is in critical condition along with a 29 year old man from Clinton. Lt. Jamie Belcher says a third, 26 year old passenger is listed in stable condition.
Belcher says the 1997 Buick Century was traveling southeast on Rt. 121 and was trying to pass a vehicle but had to swerve suddenly to avoid oncoming traffic. When they swerved, Belcher says the vehicle went off the road and rolled several times before coming to a stop in a bean field.
The driver and the passenger were air lifted to St. John’s Hospital in Springfield while the 3rd was also taken to St. Johns and treated.
Belcher says numerous law enforcement districts assistated with the cleanup including the Warrensburg Fire Protection District, the Latham Volunteer Fire department, Arch Air Medical services
