September 23rd, 2019- The Hickory Point Firefighters took the title of the Rib Challenge Champions over the Macon County Sheriff’s Department this weekend at Texas Roadhouse. The two teams battled in a relay style race competing head to head moving down the table cleaning rib bones off their plate.
September 22, 2019 – The seventh annual DMH CrossFit Enhance D-Town Throwdown was held this weekend, featuring over 40 teams and 160 athletes. The two dayfitness competition, comprised of teams of two males and two females and features Rx, Intermediate, Scaled, and Masters Divisions. Competitors, such as CrossFit Enhance competitor Amelia Elliott of “Team Jacked Up”, said the event challenges the teams in everything from running, to lifting weights, to high skill gymnastics, and strongman challenges. September 12, 2019 – It’s Truck driver appreciation week and in a new video, ADM Trucking highlights the benefits of working in this growing field. Steve Finn, Vice President of Trucking at ADM says day drivers at ADM trucking for instance can be home every night and can make between 40 and 60 thousand a year. In addition, the training required makes the career possible for everyone from new graduates to people starting a new career. Accordingtothe American Trucking Association,the industry is currently 60 thousand drivers short and expects to be 160 thousand drivers short by the year 2028.Watch the full video now.
September 11th, 2019- Coziahr Harley –Davidson honored all those lost on this day by the best way they know how…with a ride. By truck, by car, and certainly by bike over a hundred riders came out to honor, remember, and respect those fallen on this day 18 years ago.
The Children’s Museum of Illinois will have a new exhibit when it reopens this Thursday. Engine 3, a fire truck donated from Dora Township and restored for the museum by the Howard G. Buffett Foundation, will be located outside of the museum right next to the police Helicopter.
