How Garth Brooks Got His Priorities Straight

How Garth Brooks Got His Priorities Straight

Don’t have your life together yet?  No worries.  Garth figured it out for you. 😉

Garth Brooks tells US Weekly magazine that he has always placed his family before his career. “I’d never wished divorce on anybody, but three children and three parents worked really well, especially since the girls were all tomboys. So they were all at soccer, track and field, softball. Never ever did one of those kids take the field where at least one parent wasn’t in the stands. … I love music to death, really do. But there’s nothing like loving your babies.”

Why is Maren Morris Jealous of Her Friends?

Why is Maren Morris Jealous of Her Friends?

Everyone gets a little “green with envy” every now and then, and major artists are no exception!

Maren Morris tells New York magazine that she has been thinking about getting a college degree. “I like being informed. I like being educated. I actually have been thinking about going back to school and doing some online. The one semester I went to college, I loved my political science professor. I’d love to do poli-sci and literature or philosophy, just something like that, things that interest me. I’ve been really fortunate to do music for a living, but my husband has two degrees. All my friends went to school, and I moved to Nashville to pursue this. So I kind of have this envy of the mark of really learning something. I know now that I’m not unintelligent. I’m actually way more eager to learn now than ever because I’m at this stage of my life where I do it already on my own. It’d be cool to have a degree to show for it.”

Sam Hunt Says He Doesn’t Need to Write Love Songs Anymore

Sam Hunt Says He Doesn’t Need to Write Love Songs Anymore

It’s a new era for Sam Hunt!

He tells Billboard Magazine,” To be honest, I don’t write a lot of love songs, for whatever reason. I need adversity to find inspiration and I don’t have a whole lot of turmoil in my love life right now. It’s pretty steady, so I’ve had to try to find inspiration. A lot of it had come from the transition that I’ve gone through from being in my 20s and single for a lot of that time to being in a committed relationship with somebody who I know will be with me for the long haul. It’s not necessarily reflective of where I am now. I guess the songs are more a reflection of the transition.”

Old Dominion’s Pre Show Ritual

Old Dominion’s Pre Show Ritual

We don’t think we could do this every night!

Old Dominion’s Matthew Ramsey tells Inked magazine that the band’s pre-concert ritual always includes tequila. “Before every show, we take a shot of tequila. It started with just the five of us and now we have a crew of 30 people who get together, drink tequila, do a toast and take that moment to realize how lucky we are to have thousands of people waiting for us to play. We take that moment to let it sink in before we do our job.”

It’s good to have perspective… but yeah, we’re still not doing tequila shots.  We did that in college, and we’re still trying to scrub the Internet of photos. 🙂

Michael Ray and Carly Pearce Dine with Stranger on Thanksgiving

Michael Ray and Carly Pearce Dine with Stranger on Thanksgiving

Pop Culture Country claims Michael Ray and Carly Pearce dined with a stranger on Thanksgiving.

Michael posted, “Let me introduce y’all to Bill. We flew home and decided to have Thanksgiving dinner at [Cracker Barrel] tonight. We saw him sitting alone and asked if he would like to sit and have Thanksgiving dinner with us, not knowing the blessing he was going to be. We sat and for 4 hrs listened to Bills 89 year story, learned about his wife Alice that passed away 2 years ago and how they met and the life that they lived. Learned about his love of books, the stars and classical music and so many other incredible things until we looked around and he said I think we are the only ones here haha. We cherished every sec and let him just talk. He put so much in perspective for us both. Bill and us now have dinner plans in Jan.”
