DAAC To Host Castle In the Cornfield

November 12, 2019 – Dedicated in 1930, the Staley building is often called the Castle in the Cornfield.  At nearly 210 feet tall, the neo gothic building is considered a cathedral of commerce and is serves as a symbol of Decatur’s rich agribusiness history.  You can learn more about the building during a Decatur Area Arts Council Members Plus event called The Castle in the Cornfield.  The presentation will be given by Lesley Nicholson, board member of the Staley Museum and will include history of it’s architecture and the legacy of AE Staley.  Members Plus Events are an ongoing series of fun, arts education events offered free quarterly for DAAC members, prospective members, and guests.  The event will take place at 6:30 Wednesday November 13th at the Decatur Area Arts Council.  For RSVP, call 217-423-3189 or email arts4all@decaturarts.org
