Charlie 10 – The Legacy of Learning Banquet

November 10, 2019 – Over a hundred community members, educators, and supporters of Decatur Public Schools Foundation honored distinguished alumni at “Celebrate! The Legacy of Learning” Banquet.  The event was hosted by the Eisenhower and MacArthur chapters of the Dwayne O. Andreas  Ag Academy and honored, educator of the year, Johns Hill Teacher Susie Niesman.  Also honored were Outstanding Stephen Decatur Alum Jim McElroy. McElroy is civil rights lawyer now living in San Diego. McElory lead the legal efforts against white supremacist Tom Metzger for his role in the murder of an Ethiopian student.
