NowDecatur Announces 2019 Football Broadcast Schedule; Return of Earthmover Game of Week

August 13  –  The sports coverage team has announced a couple changes along with their 2019 High School & Millikin Football Broadcast Schedule.

Earthmover Credit Union returns as the presenting sponsor for the 7th straight season of High School Football on ESPNDecatur 1050 AM (WDZ). Returning to the broadcast booth for his 14th season of play-by-play, is the 2018 Illinois Broadcasters Association ‘Sportscaster of the Year’, Aric Lee. Lee will be joined for the sixth-straight season by 2018 Millikin Athletics Hall of Fame inductee, ‘T-Mac’ Tony McClain (Football & Baseball).

The Earthmover Credit Union Game of the Week Schedule with Lee & McClain, has announced 7 weeks of High School coverage, with Weeks 8 & 9 announced later in the season. Schedule listed below.

Lee & McClain will also return to the collegiate broadcast booth for their fourth season on the call of coach Dan Gritti’s Millikin Big Blue. The duo will broadcast the opening 7 weeks on ESPNDecatur 1050 AM, including the 6 p.m. season opener on Friday, September 6th against Hope College, also simulcast on WSOY 1340 AM/103.3 FM. The remaining 3 weeks of the Big Blue are to be determined around the High School Playoffs.

Furthermore, WSOY 1340 AM/103.3 FM will continue to be the home of St. Teresa Bulldogs Football. On the Friday nights the Bulldogs are not playing under the Earthmover Credit Union Game of the Week schedule, Neuhoff Media welcomes a new broadcast team to the airwaves.

Latham’s Scott Harrelson will anchor the St. Teresa team, calling play-by-play. Harrelson is a Warrensburg-Latham, Lincoln College, & Southern Illinois at Carbondale graduate, who has broadcasted a variety of sports, in a variety of places, off-and-on since 1981.

Joining Harrelson in the booth, debuting the opening week of the season when the Bulldogs travel to Downs Tri-Valley, is 2012 St. Teresa graduate, Blake Allison. Allison assembled a tremendous soccer career at St. Teresa, before joining the football team to handle the kicking and punting duties his senior season. He scratched the football itch for four more years, at Quincy University, earning the starting job his sophomore season, graduating in 2016.
