Council Set to Approve Pact with Wrighton

January 14 – City Council members is expected to approve an employment agreement for incoming City Manager Scot Wrighton during a special meeting Monday.

Mayor Julie Moore Wolfe called the 5:30 p.m. meeting for the specific purpose of finalizing the pact with Wrighton.

The deal calls for an annual salary of $185,000 over an indefinite term. Wrighton was introduced last Wednesday as the Council’s unanimous choice for the job of chief administrator.

Wrighton, who is Currently the City Manager in Streator, Wrighton is expected to begin his duties in late March. He fills the vacancy created when Tim Gleason left in June to take the City Manager position in Bloomington.

Billy Tyus has handled the role in an interim capacity since Gleason’s departure but announced recently he also will move on to Bloomington as Gleason’s deputy.
