January 11 – State Rep. Sue Scherer has laid out her priorities and goals for the new legislative session.
The Decatur Democrat won re-election in November and was sworn in to the 101st Illinois General Assembly earlier this week.
“I am ready to continue working with my fellow legislators, local community leaders and area residents to help get Illinois back on the right track,” said Scherer. “My top legislative priorities include promoting good government practices and increasing transparency, and reducing the crushing tax burden on local families.
“I also want to help generate more jobs in our region and address the state’s ongoing financial crisis.”
The former teacher and lifelong area resident said she is committed to being a strong voice for the communities she represents.
