Mt. Zion Declares Snow Emergency

January 11 – The Village of Mt. Zion will be under a snow emergency from 6 p.m. Friday until 6 p.m. Sunday.

A media release from Village Administrator Julie Miller said the expected heavy snowfall from an approaching winter storm poses “a serious public hazard impairing transportation, fire and police protection, as well as other vital facilities of the Village.”

During the snow emergency, parking is prohibited on all village streets, and no one is allowed to leave any vehicle unattended. The Mt. Zion Police will tow vehicles in violation of the snow emergency at the owners’ expense.
