DPD Issues Arrest Warrant for Man Wanted in June 3rd Murder

June 12 – An arrest warrant has been issued for a man wanted for the murder of a Chicago man in Decatur in the early morning hours of June 3rd.

Decatur Police have issued a First Degree Murder warrant for 26 year old Andrew L. Boey in regards to death of 35 Bernard F. Novell in the 400 block of East Stuart Street in Decatur

Shortly before 1am Sunday June 3rd, Decatur Police were notified of gunshots being heard in the 400 block of East Stuart Street. Upon arriving in the area, officers located an individual that had been shot. The man was transported to Decatur Memorial Hospital and was pronounced dead at 1:23 Sunday morning. Macon County Coroner Mike Day has identified the man as 35 year old Bernard Norvell of Chicago. Day says Norvell has also lived in the Decatur area as well.
